The KDAB group supports Quantitative Imaging Systems (Qi) in its efforts to revolutionize cancer research, paving the way for new treatments. The focus is to speed up and enable the rendering of huge amounts of data so Qi-Tissue can analyze images of biopsies from patients and label individual cells with over a hundred biomarkers.

The demo shown at Embedded World 2020 includes

- 3D visualization of microscopy of tissue samples
- 2D images from cutting edge clinical diagnostics data sets
- Real-time conversion to 3D from 30 image channels using Qt 3D

Senior software engineer and teamlead at KDAB, André has been using Qt since 2002 when he wrote an open source Qt 2-based flight computer for use in glider planes. Since then, he has applied Qt in a broad range of industries ranging from oil & gas exploration, scientific data manipulation and visualization to medical devices and many more. His main expertise is in C++ and QML. André holds a MSc in Philosophy of Science & Technology.
