This introductory course explores a range of tools that allow developers and testers to find bugs and identify performance issues in C++ applications on Linux. The tools presented cover a wide range of problems, from general-purpose debugging and CPU profiling to Linux-specific high-level analyzers.

Profiling with Heaptrack and Hotspot on Embedded Linux

Milian will take the stage to give an introduction to Heaptrack for heap memory profiling and Hotspot and linux perf for on-CPU and off-CPU profiling.

The focus lies on leveraging these two FOSS tools in common embedded Linux workflows. Milian will go over the most important features and also outline some of the recent development related to the two projects.
