Learn how to configure CLion for embedded Linux development. In this tutorial, Joshua Goins walks through setting up an embedded toolchain and CMake profile, deploying an application over SSH, and configuring remote debugging with GDB server.
Using a Toradex i.MX6 board, Joshua demonstrates how to build locally and debug on the target hardware from within CLion. Set breakpoints, inspect variables, and modify values using the same debugging interface you use for desktop development.
To follow along, you’ll need a configured Linux device, an SDK installed on your development machine, and GDB server installed on the target.
