Crowdsourced QA is rising due to faster time-to-market, reduced costs, higher quality, and increased release confidence. However, disadvantages exist, like lacking code coverage information from testers. This doesn't mean black-box testing and code coverage are mutually exclusive.

Creating Automated GUI Tests for Embedded Applications

This talk presents a proven approach for creating fully automated, robust, and maintainable GUI tests for Qt applications on embedded devices. Using an ARM iMX6 device with Qt-based GUI, it demonstrates Squish GUI Tester tool usage and shows how Remote Control and Remote System functionalities enable interaction with target devices in different physical locations.

Tomasz Pawłowski – Software engineer at froglogic, Tomasz started the adventure with Squish and GUI Testing in 2011, designing and implementing automated tests for a Flight Planning solution at Lufthansa Systems. In 2014 he joined froglogic and is conducting Squish training and consulting for many companies in Europe, India, and the USA. Additionally, Tomasz is implementing Squish integrations. Tomasz has a degree in computer science from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Poland.
