QML @ DevDays 2012

In less than a week, the Qt DevDays 2012 conference in Berlin will start! I am quite excited, the scheduled talks and trainings look awesome, I can hardy decide which one to attend.

There are lots of talks about QML and QtQuick as well. I’ll be holding a presentations about how the QML engine works, looking at the undocumented internals to see what magic makes QML tick. Parts of the content will be similar to this blog series, for example looking at  how a QML file is loaded and how bindings work. On top of that, there is lots of new stuff, for example unraveling the mystery of optimized bindings and virtual meta objects. If you have no idea what these terms mean, go attend my talk to learn more! I’ll start with basic stuff so everyone who has programmed with Qt and QML before will be able to follow.

Lastly, I’ll reveal a secret optimization technique present in the QML engine that is virtually unknown so far, which speeds up a benchmark about bindings updates:

Want to know what technique I used here? Be in the Asgabat room at 11:30 am on Wednesday!

See you next week in Berlin!
