Maintaining Qt3D

Many of you will be aware that the Qt3D module has suffered in recent times due to the unfortunate departure of the Brisbane-based staff who originally developed it. To ensure that this module has a future in Qt 5, KDAB engineers Sean Harmer and James Turner have recently volunteered to become official Qt Project Maintainers for Qt3D.

The current tentative plans are to make Qt3D usable with Qt5 as soon as possible and to then extend the functionality of this module so it becomes an industrial strength addition to the Qt ecosystem. If you have features that you wish to see included in the future of Qt3D then please raise them on the development@qt-project.org mailing list.
